Steam Winter Sale Promotions: Hades, Half-Life Alyx and more

Just in time for the holidays, Valve is running its annual Winter Promotion right now on Steam. As usual, this means that you can save a lot on thousands of games and DLC. The Steam Winter Promotion runs until January 5 at 10am PT / 1pm ET. There are tons of stellar deals to take advantage of, including discounts on some of the best games of 2020.

Overcome the standard server errors that accompany the launch of the sale and you will see that there is no corresponding mini-game or something terribly detailed, as some previous Steam sales did. That said, you will notice birds adorning the various centers of the Steam store and will be able to obtain “festive birds” stickers to use on Steam that celebrate various games. You can get them on.

But the real highlight of a Steam sale is the offers, and there is no shortage of them, including great new games released in 2020. Our game of the year, Half-Life: Alyx, has a $ 45 discount, although keep in mind that you will need a VR headset to play it. Others nominated for GameSpot Game of the Year are on sale, including Hades for $ 20, Yakuza: Like a Dragon for $ 45 and Spiritfarer for $ 22.49.

With the Halo Master Chief collection now complete for PC, you can buy it for just $ 24, which equates to about $ 4 per game – a real rip off. Alternatively, you can purchase your individual games for $ 6 each. Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete edition, the old PS4 exclusive open-world action game, dropped to $ 40. Another ex-PS4 exclusive, Death Stranding, drops to $ 30.

Fall Guys may have fallen out of zeitgeist compared to its release, but it’s still silly fun and dropped to $ 16. Another hugely successful indie game this year, Between Us, is $ 1 off, taking its price to $ 4. Phasmophobia has a small discount that takes it to $ 12.59, and Stardew Valley, just out of update 1.5, is $ 10.

Doom Eternal was one of the best snipers of the year and can be purchased for just $ 19.79. At Man’s Sky, which has improved dramatically since its launch and continues to receive substantial free updates, it dropped to $ 30. Monster Hunter World dropped to $ 19.79, while its Iceborne expansion dropped to $ 24.79. If The Mandalorian put you in the mood for Star Wars, Jedi: Fallen Order costs $ 24 and Star Wars: Squadrons costs $ 24. Or if Cyberpunk 2077’s cyberpunk brand isn’t doing it for you, Ghostrunner dropped to $ 22, 49.

Coinciding with this sale, the vote is now live for the Steam Awards. You can vote for your choices in 10 different categories, including Game of the Year, from now until January 3 at 9am PT / 12pm ET. Winners will be announced on January 4 at 10am PT / 1pm ET.
