How about this: why not be the first to transmit 8K resolution PC games to the other side of your mansion? When we saw that Steam now supports this feature, we immediately thought of you.
Imagine the possibilities: you could sit in your $ 9,000 fully immersive bathroom with your 8K backup TV – just like you do – and instead of wasting so many of those glorious pixels on a Snyder Cut, you can use all the more of 33 million of them to hang some not terribly demanding game with 8K resolution of its blinding rainbow deadly box from a RTX 3090-equipped gaming PC, without even disturbing your sanctuary at the other end of your house!
You probably need this level of PC, of course, and even then 8K may not be taken for granted. “Results may vary depending on the hardware,” read Valve’s release notes. I would also suggest a wired Ethernet cable to reduce latency, and you may want to unlock your bandwidth limiter on Steam> Settings> Remote Play> Advanced client options too – because 50 Mbps may not cut it at 8K resolution . You would know better than us, though.

In all seriousness, it’s really cool to see Steam being prepared for the TVs of the future. And please send us a much high resolution photo of your configuration if it is also your TV now.
On the other hand, if you’re the type of person who can’t afford to buy new games, let alone an 8K TV or a high-end gaming PC, Valve also has good news for you – the company has just brought Steam Remote Play Together URL sharing outside the beta, so your friends can send you a link to join your local multiplayer games, even if you don’t have a PC or a Steam account.
