Last year’s OnePlus 8 Pro was the company’s first model to support wireless charging, and they did it quickly, adding support for a proprietary 30-watt “Warp” charger. According to the leaks in the next update, the 9 Pro will increase this to 50 watts, presumably speeding up the wireless charge rate even further.

Previously, the OnePlus 9 pro was rumored to support 45-watt wireless charging. According to a report from the frequent leaker Ishan Agarwal, the phone will be launched along with a premium wireless charger sold separately, as well as the latest model. The OnePlus 9 Pro and the cheaper model 9 support standard Qi wireless charging, says Agarwal, although the non-Pro does not have access to these higher charging speeds. Last year, the OnePlus 8 (sans Pro) ran out of wireless charging capability.

Several leaks from both devices have already occurred, showing us the design of the rear camera and some other hardware options. There are also rumors of a OnePlus 9 Lite, giving the company the same approach as Samsung’s three models. The announcement is confirmed and scheduled for March 23.
