State Farm Stadium in Glendale will become a COVID-19 vaccination site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: how to apply

Starting Monday, January 11, the State Farm Stadium in Glendale will open as a 24/7 COVID-19 vaccination site, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced on Friday.

The registration information will be available on Monday morning at www.azhealth.gov/findvaccine, the Governor’s Office said in a press release.

Law enforcement and first responders will be able to sign up for appointments starting on Monday afternoon, followed by those in 1A and 1B on Tuesday, which includes teachers and staff at K-12 school, day care centers and those with 75 years or more.

Vaccinations will be treated by appointment only.

For those without access to the Internet to access a computer, the Director of ADHS, Dr. Cara Christ, said during a press conference on Friday afternoon that people will also be able to contact the ADHS COVID-19 hotline, 1-844-542-8201 or Arizona 211 on Monday afternoon, to be referred to someone who can help make an appointment.

When fully installed and working. Dr. Christ said she expects the vaccination site to serve 250 to 500 people an hour.

She also said that State Farm Stadium would continue to be a testing site for COVID-19, while administering vaccines for COVID-19.

Governor Doug Ducey was not at the ADHS press conference.

The vaccination site is possible as part of a $ 1 million donation from the Ben and Catherine Ivy Foundation.

“Our new vaccination site in Glendale will rapidly expand the number of Arizonans who will be vaccinated,” said Governor Ducey in a statement. “We need to take these doses of vaccine out of the freezers and place them in the arms of the Arizones who want to, and our new website will speed up this process.

Across the state, more than 725 members of the state’s Department of Emergency and Military Affairs are assisting medical personnel, including opening this vaccination site.

Officials in the governor’s office say that as of Friday, 123,862 people received the COVID-19 vaccine and 2,127 individuals received both doses and were fully vaccinated.

Arizona’s vaccine distribution will expand to “hundreds of providers” as more doses become available.

Most of the staff at the State Farm Stadium vaccination center will be volunteers from Arizona’s Blue Cross Blue Shield, with Cardinals officers providing technical support, tents and more.
