Stardew Valley is a board game now

If you’ve played Stardew Valley and thinking hey, running a farm looks very good, I would like to do that without any manual work, Today is your lucky day. The successful independent farm game has been adapted for what may become a successful board game, and is available now.

The surprise announcement was made by developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone at Stardew Valley on the Internet network. In it, Barone says he has worked with board game designer Cole Medeiros for just over two and a half years to adapt. Stardew Valley: the board game is a cooperative game where players work together to restore the Valley. They do this by growing crops, raising animals, expanding their farms and collecting resources across the Valley.

By making friends with the locals, players win hearts that allow them to reveal hidden goals. Only by working together will they prevent Joja Corporation from moving and screwing up.

Barone also warns that Stardew Valley: the board game is not “a short, casual game”, emphasizing that he wanted it to have the same level of complexity and customization as the original game – going so far as to share the rules book online for those unsure if it is a good option for their table. With that warning out of the way, cardboard Stardew it seems as charming a way to spend time as your digital brother.
