Stardew Valley 1.5 is now available for Switch, PS4 and Xbox One

With split-screen cooperative mode, a new island to explore and more content, this is the ‘biggest update yet’

After its PC debut in December, Stardew Valley today released the substantial content update 1.5 on consoles. If you are a Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One player, today is the day. It is huge.

Update 1.5 includes a ton of new things like Willy’s boat that you can fix and navigate to Ginger Island, another dungeon that’s difficult to face with new enemies, a new NPC to make friends with, Golden nuts to collect, the “ farm on the beach “, a lot of new items and machines like the Geode Crusher, more fish to fish, extra furniture items, additional character events, the ability to move your bed and swimming ducks.

For console players in particular, local split-screen multiplayer is an important feature. Tell the family.

There are simply too many additions to justify them all here (check the patch notes filled with minutiae when you’re done), so those are the highlights. It wasn’t a very long wait compared to the PC’s update time, but I won’t lie: I’m impatient to cooperate in split screen. My weekend plans are done.
