Aspyr said he brought the Republic Commando back as a single player experience with modernized controls. The original game, which is currently available for PC and Xbox Series X / S and Xbox One via backward compatibility, has a multiplayer option for 16 players.

In 2005, Eurogamer gave Republic Commando a positive review, with Kristan Reed calling it “the best Star Wars shooter” at the time.

Texas-based Aspyr recently bought by Embracer, the parent company of THQ Nordic, takes shape when it comes to bringing old Star Wars games to modern platforms.
