The history of Star Wars is changing a lot. A new graphic, released along with the launch of the comic book, book and novel series The High Republic, divided the events of a very, very distant galaxy into six different eras.
As you can see below, there are now official titles for everything from The High Republic, set 200 years before The Phantom Menace, to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The High Republic, of course, ranks first. There are no prizes for guessing what this era is called. Next, the prequels are now called “Fall of the Jedi”. This includes The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, the TV series Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith.
Next comes Reign of the Empire – which actually brings together Solo: A Star Wars Story and the next 2021 Star Wars series, The Bad Batch.
Star Wars Rebels, Rogue One and the original trilogy are all under the banner of the Age of Rebellion; The Mandalorian is currently the only entry into the New Republic era.
Finally, the sequences and Resistance are all grouped in the Rise of the First Order era.
Surprisingly, there is a considerable gap between the Kingdom of the Empire and the Age of Rebellion. It may be nothing, although the Obi-Wan series and Cassian Andor’s prequel will take place in this space on the Star Wars timeline. This narrative chasm will soon be explored on Disney Plus.
The future (and past) of Star Wars looks bright – and it now fits perfectly into a chart. For more information, check out the upcoming Star Wars movies currently in development.
