Square Enix Trademarks Three names related to Final Fantasy VII

As noted by Gematsu, three new Square Enix trademarks have emerged in Japan. The company has requested the words “Ever Crisis”, “The First Soldier” and the Shinra Electric Power Company logo. Square Enix registered for all three trademarks in December 2020. According to Chizai Watch, all three Square Enix trademarks were classified into the following categories: mechanical equipment, paper, toys and education / entertainment. The deposit allows each brand to be used in up to 128 different services, including video games.

There is no further information on whether “Ever Crisis” and “The First Solider” are strictly related to video game titles. The first keyword brings to mind two games in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII Series: Before the crisis and Crisis Center. “The First Soldier” probably refers to Shinra’s elite super-soldier combat force. Notable members of the Soldier are Angeal, Genesis, Sephiroth and Zack. The final trademark of the Shinra logo may be for merchandising purposes, but there is no additional information.

With the success of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Square Enix has suggested that it has big plans for the second installment of its new series. Final Fantasy VII Remake is now available on PlayStation 4. Part 2 is currently in development.
