Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium has released a new progress update on the title’s single-player campaign, Squadron 42.

The new studio update does not encourage reading for anyone hoping to get their hands on a player’s part Star Citizen coming soon.

Director Chris Roberts posted a new update on the studio’s blog revealing that Squad 42 itself is far from complete.

“[…] I decided that it is better not to show the Squadron 42 gameplay publicly, nor to discuss any release date until we are closer to the final stretch and have high confidence in the remaining time needed to finish the game with the quality we want. “

In July 2020, the studio posted a preview of a mock-up of a work-in-progress roadmap for Squadron 42, in which it was revealed that the beta phase should be launched in the second quarter of 2020. Of course, it doesn’t.

In October 2020, it was again insisted that there is no ETA for when it will be launched.

Now, with this update, the developer seems to be doubling down on the fact that the title is far from complete, although it was announced years ago.

Many players are eager to see the title in action, mainly thanks to its huge A-list, star-studded cast that includes Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson, Andy Serkis and more.

Squadron 42 was originally scheduled to launch in 2016. We have no vague suggestion of when it will be launched now.
