Spotify is the latest technology company to switch to a flexible working model after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The streaming company announced on Friday that it is adapting a “Work from Anywhere” model, which will allow employees to choose whether to stay in the office full time, at home full time or a combination of the two.

The company will also introduce more flexibility around locations, so employees can choose the country and city where they work. Spotify will provide shared workspace memberships for employees who choose to work remotely but still want a dedicated workspace.

“As part of our ongoing effort in the dynamic workplace, we are reevaluating our office spaces worldwide for greater sustainability, flexibility and well-being to ensure that all of our employees, regardless of capacity or situation, can work in comfort. and efficiency, “said the company on a blog. “The ultimate goal of our new design approach is to ensure that employees have a place where they can focus, collaborate and create – whether at a table, in a conference room or in cafe spaces.”

An increasing number of companies are beginning to consider remote work as a more permanent option due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Salesforce announced this week that it will allow employees to choose whether they want to go back to the office, saying “the 9 to 5 working day is over”. Twitter and Square are allowing employees to work from home “forever”, while Microsoft says employees will have more flexibility to work from home.
