Spotify launches new mobile home screen this month

Spotify is preparing to release another update to its initial interface, designed to provide subscribers with an even more personalized experience. The updated interface will be available globally on iOS and Android later this month.

“We are constantly working on ways to improve our user experience,” said Spotify on a blog. “With this latest update, we will be launching several advances in the mobile home hub, designed to make it easier and more intuitive to find the audio you love.”

Here are the top three changes that will occur in the new Spotify home interface on iOS and Android:

  • Travel back in time: Rediscover lost jewelry in your listening history with a new “recently played” destination, where users can go back in time and browse through up to three months of listening history. Premium and Free users worldwide will be able to browse individual tracks and episodes recently played, as well as playlists, albums and programs from which they were played.
  • Skip to new and unfinished podcasts: Global Premium users can view new and relevant podcast episodes directly from the Home hub. New episodes will be marked with a blue dot and episodes that have already started will display a progress bar indicating how advanced you are in the episode.
  • Discover more music: Premium users worldwide will not miss a single track from the artists they love. Now, you’ll see a new surface highlighted at the top of the Home hub, dedicated to discovery-oriented recommendations that are personalized, timely and responsive to your taste.

The new changes to the Spotify home screen come about a year after the streaming service made it easy to find your favorite playlists and podcasts. It was a useful update because it made it much easier to get into the content. This update builds on that, making your home screen an even more personal experience.

Spotify said that the updated home screen will be available for mobile devices this month, and since March is only a few days away, we should see it coming very soon.
