CBS continues to work on its crowded spinoff bingo card with the possible addition of a third FBI Series.
In the wake of the news that the Eye network is shaking the NCIS franchise with the exit of NCIS: New Orleans and the possible arrival of NCIS: Hawaii, Timeframe reports that CBS put under development FBI: International. The last branch, which would focus on global FBI operations, would join the series of motherships FBI (currently in its third season) and spinoff FBI: Most Wanted (currently in its second season).
According to the deadline, Chicago Fire EP Derek Haas – who briefly served as co-showrunner for FBI – is writing the pilot’s script.
CBS declined to comment.
On Wednesday, CBS confirmed that NCIS: New Orleans it would end its seven-season season on Sunday, May 16. “It was our sincere pleasure and honor to work on this program and with this incredible cast and crew for more than 150 episodes,” co-hosts and executive producers Jan Nash and Christopher Silber said in a statement. “As disappointed as we are with the end of NOLA, we couldn’t be more proud of the work we did and we are grateful to the spectacular and resilient Crescent City that has embraced us for seven wonderful years.”
