SpaceX publishes a clearer view of the Starship SN10 test flight

From the moment the Starship SN10 took off until a few minutes after it landed, things basically went as planned. Now SpaceX has published a recap video of the latest high-altitude test flight, which includes video of the vehicle itself, as well as detailed views of the rocket’s engines when they arrived to land. You can clearly see the landing legs extending as it descends and when the SN10 jumps through a cloud of smoke when it lands.

What you won’t see is a peek at your legs crushed by the impact, or the spectacular explosion that followed, similar to the video you recap after the SN8 flight test. Elon Musk detailed some of the “multiple” fixes that SpaceX planned for its next flight, and tweeted tonight that the SN11 is “almost ready to fly”.

But this video is about flight test successes. As the description on YouTube indicates, “he successfully ascended, transitioned from the propellant and reoriented himself to reentry and an active controlled aerodynamic descent. The SN10 Raptor engines reactivated to perform the vehicle’s landing maneuver immediately before touching the ground. successfully.”
