Free Dandara gravity inversion platforms next week.
If you want to expand your increasingly impassable catalog even further, Epic has announced the next two giveaways it will be presenting in its store, starting with Galactic Civilizations 3 and continuing with the Dandara gravity inversion platform game next week.
Galactic Civilizations 3 is the space-based 4X strategy game from developer Stardock, which proved to be good enough to earn a recommended badge recommended when it fell under the eye of Eurogamer review-o-matic in 2015.
“If you’ve dived for hundreds of hours in GalCiv 2, it may seem at first that you’re playing an HD upgrade instead of a sequel,” wrote critic Richie Shoemaker, “but once the ship’s production is in full swing and the fleets are gathering at the borders, you start to appreciate everything new …[it’s] well deserving of the GalCiv name and offers enough in terms of traditional features and modern scalability to guarantee the series’ place at the top of the 4X “technology tree.

As for Dandara, it is a lovable-looking Metroidvania with an intriguing gravity twist, in which the titular leader moves like a slingshot around the place, sticking to the walls, ceilings and floors. In its original aspect, Dandara was an engaging and pleasantly atmospheric adventure – albeit at times irritating – but Epic is giving the updated Trials of Fear edition, which aimed to improve this solid foundation with new mechanics, locations, enemies and more.

Galactic Civilizations 3 can be added to his Epic Games Store library for free until next Thursday, January 28, when he will then jump off the gift shelf and make way for Dandara.
