At least one airline is resuming some of its pre-pandemic operations.
Southwest Airlines confirmed to Fox News that it has resumed its traditional boarding process. During the pandemic, the airline (which does not assign seats) used a boarding system in which passengers would board in groups under 10. Now, Southwest Airlines boards in groups of 30, reports USA Today.
The airline confirmed to Fox News that, although it has adjusted its boarding policies, it still follows other practices of the pandemic era, such as reminding passengers of social distance when possible and adhering to the mandate of the federal mask.

Southwest Airlines now ships passengers in groups of 30.

“Southwest is operating with our traditional boarding process,” Southwest Airlines spokesman Dan Landson said in a statement provided to Fox News. “Many customers are familiar with Southwest’s standard boarding style and the expectation for the normal boarding process was becoming increasingly important as additional customers returned to travel with us. The change took effect on March 15th.”
The statement continues: “It is clear that Southwest Airlines maintains reminders of physical distance in the airport areas and encourages social distance. In addition, Southwest policy and the federal mask mandate require customers and employees to wear masks at all moments from the airport, when boarding and disembarking and on board the aircraft. “
