South Florida shooting on Interstate 95 leaves 1 dead

A shootout on Interstate 95 in South Florida on Friday afternoon left a man dead, said the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and authorities said they had detained another man for questioning.

The incident started as “an altercation between two adult male drivers that resulted in a shootout” around 1:42 pm, but it was unclear what caused the discussion, authorities said.

All lanes on I-95 north were temporarily closed in the area as investigated by the police, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

It was the third deadly shooting in Palm Beach County last week, the Palm Beach Post reported. They were the first 2021 deadly shots to the municipality, according to the newspaper.
