South Carolina’s healthcare system offers first services in the new doctor’s office building; developing surgical center

The Lexington Medical Center Northeast, based in Columbia, SC, has opened an emergency care center, an imaging center and a physical and occupational therapy facility, with more services planned, Cola Daily reported on March 9.

The health system is implementing new services for the unit in phases.

The facility will include an outpatient surgery center and medical offices specializing in orthopedics, sports medicine, urology, podiatry, cardiology, otolaryngology and a community education center.

The doctor’s office building is 225,000 square feet and has been under construction for about two years.
