– Gamecocks are 11-18 at all times at SEC openings, and Wednesday’s clash against the Aggies marks the first against Carolina’s A&M at a conference opening.
– Gamecocks won a 78-71 victory over Florida A&M last Saturday on their home debut, using a 9-2 run in the last five minutes to ensure victory. Junior guard AJ Lawsonin His career record with nine field goals made him the best 25-point win.
– South Carolina returned to the court for the first time since December 5, when it hosted Florida A&M on January 2. – A&M won all of their home games this season, but lost both matches outside College Station, a defeat on neutral site for TCU on December 12 and defeat on December 29 at LSU.
– The Aggies force 17.6 turnovers per dispute, however, they also commit 16.8. TAMU’s 13.0 assists per game are in 10th place at the SEC.
QUOTES
“I think that on Wednesday we will be back, in terms of conditioning. I know that in training we will train hard up and down (the court) and on Wednesday we should be better. We hadn’t played in almost a month, but I think we’ll be there on Wednesday. “- Justin Minaya
“Buzz, his teams are going to play extremely connected and extremely difficult. He has guys now that they were with him in sophomore year. You watch them on tape and they are much more connected with the way he wants his teams to play. Last year, we were lucky to film all three very well the two times we played them. We need to make sure that our turnover has decreased. A great thing for Buzz, when he trains the attack, his players conduct basketball. On the road against them (last year), we made too many mistakes, which created problems for us. In the home game we were much better at not committing some of those fouls. This is the challenge when you train against the Buzz Williams teams. You have to protect the basketball. “- Frank Martin
