It has been a tough sledge for USC Upstate, as the Spartans have lost each of their seven games, including Division II member Southern Wesleyan. The team has been a bit of a rudderless ship as head coach Dave Dickerson resigned due to family health issues due to COVID-19. Assistant Stacey Palmore has served as interim head coach with Dickerson meeting the team only virtually. USC Upstate averages 70.4 PPGs, ranking 215th in the country, and it allows 86.7 PPGs to check in 323th in the country. The Spartans also allow the opposition to strike a 49.8% cut from the field, also 323rd in the country. Tennessee beat around St. Joseph with 102-66 and won and covered for the fifth time in as many matches. Vols is ranked number two in the country with only 51.2 PPG allowed, and a 34.3 field goal percentage on defense, ranking fourth in the nation.
