South Carolina, UConn and Stanford top McDonald’s All-American High School women’s games list – The Athletic

McDonald’s All-American Game announced its lineup for the 2021 Class.

For women, the college destinations of many senior students in high school must sound familiar – four are committed to South Carolina, three to UConn, two to Stanford. But other programs with first- or second-year coaches are attracting noticeably more talent, like Vic Schaefer in Texas and Courtney Banghart in North Carolina.

While the SEC defends the best conference in women’s college basketball, it may come as no surprise that it has the largest number of appearances in the McDonald’s All-American cast, with seven. ACC and Pac-12 follow with five, while Big 12 has four and Big East (actually UConn) has three.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the game will not take place this year. Instead, selected players will be honored virtually.

Here are the 24 female players who made up the team, along with more information about each of them, including their college commitments.
