The South Carolina State Bulldogs announced their updated Spring 2021 football schedule, which includes four games in total.
The state of South Carolina initially had to revise its schedule after an announcement on February 11 that the Middle East Athletic Conference (MEAC) had suspended the spring 2021 season.
The Bulldogs, along with other MEAC members, Delaware State and Howard, announced that they were choosing to continue their football season this spring, with disputes between them.
However, Howard announced on Tuesday, March 2, that his games against the state of South Carolina were being canceled due to “… District of Columbia restrictions on travel to and from the state of South Carolina” amid the new coronavirus pandemic 2019 (COVID-19).
As a result of these cancellations, the state of South Carolina added games against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs and the Alabama State Hornets of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). The Bulldogs will host Alabama A&M at the season opener on Saturday, March 6, at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium in Orangeburg, SC, and will travel to face Alabama State on Saturday, April 3.
The state of South Carolina will also receive the other MEAC member, the state of Delaware, on March 13, and will return to Dover, Dela, on Saturday, April 17.
Bulldogs will have open dates on March 20, March 27 and April 10.
