South Carolina Gamecocks are completing an exclusive recruitment campaign during the month of January.
Instead of hosting a handful of potential high school students remaining for unofficial visits and official visits, the trainer Shane Beamer and his team channeled much of their recruiting energy into the NCAA Transfer Portal. And everything was done over the phone or virtually.
In the past three weeks, South Carolina has managed four new transfers. Five are currently on campus doing exercise and participating in classes. The seven-man transfer class is one of the highest totals among Power 5 schools.

Brown was the first to announce his commitment. Jenkins followed him a little later. And they will be on campus on Sunday, not March 1, as originally planned. This news, again, was first reported by TheBigSpur.
One of his high school coaches, Patrick Lilly, posted a detailed report right here, and is the most detailed recruiting update of the month. TheBigSpur later talked to Lilly for more information. Here is a story about Brown. And another in Jenkins.
South Carolina met several needs through the portal. There are still some areas that need help, but Gamecocks made some significant strides in January.
