South Carolina recruiting setback

TheBigSpur posted a number of South Carolina Gamecocks football recruiting stories last week.

The biggest news came in the form of a three-star offensive tackle commitment Grayson Mains (Suwanee, Georgia). A few days after Mains was in town for a self-guided tour of the South Carolina campus, a choice of Crystal Ball for Gamecocks was recorded. It was presented in the last edition of the VIP Room.

Mains provided a schedule for his appointment before announcing the decision on Thursday night. So, what’s next for Gamecocks and their offensive line recruitment? Here’s a look.

There are some June recruitment weekends that have already taken shape. Mains will be among the guys in town as official visitors.

South Carolina is in the mix for transfer to West Virginia Tykee Smith, who had a virtual tour with the Gamecocks team a few days ago. How was it? Here’s an update on that and who else was on that Zoom call.

Defensive end of four stars Eli Hall (Shelby, NC) is taking an open approach to its recruitment process. Three star athlete Ja’Kobi Albert (Fairfield, Ala.) Maintains contact with the defenders’ coach Torrian Gray.

The last Top247 for 2023 features several guys from the state of South Carolina. There are several prospects with potential Power 5 in the state of Palmetto.

Dutch wide receiver Devin hyatt it is the best rated wide receiver for the 2023 cycle. It maintains regular contact with some Gamecocks assistants.

Offensive download from Woodland High School (Dorchester, SC) Kam Pringle I got an offer from Gamecocks this week. He is one of two attackers on South Carolina’s 2024 offensive line that lists an offer from Shane Beamer’s team.

According to 247Sports, the 2022 South Carolina Gamecocks football recruitment class is ranked No. 48 in the country. It is currently a two-man race, with Mains and three-star defensive defense. Anthony Rose (Hallandale, Florida)
