TheBigSpur.com learned that due to the continued suspension of South Carolina men’s basketball from team-related activities because of positive COVID-19 cases, the December 19 dispute with rival Clemson has been postponed. USC Athletics Communications and Public Relations has already released a press release on the postponement. Schools will work to find a date to play the game, if possible.

On Thursday night, coach Frank Martin informed members of the local media that the positive test results involved players, not members of the coaching staff. At the time, he was not sure of the status of the dispute with the Tigers.

Gamecocks (1-2) suspended the team’s activities on December 8 due to positive results of the COVID-19 test, which canceled the home debut against Wofford on December 10. Two days later, the team canceled tonight’s road race against George Washington as well. In that release, the “the testing process will continue during the suspension of the team’s activities, which, depending on the negative test results, would resume on Wednesday, December 16, at least. “
