A South Carolina mother who won Food Network’s 20th season of ‘Worst Cooks in America’ was arrested with her husband for the death of her three-year-old daughter.

Ariel Robinson, 29, and her 34-year-old husband, Jerry Robinson, were arrested on Tuesday by officers from the Simpsonville Police Department and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

The officers responded to a call about a child who did not respond at his home in Sellwood Circle at about 2:25 pm on January 14, according to a press release.

The child, identified by the Coroner’s Office in Greenville County as Victoria Rose Smith, 3, was transported to a hospital in the area where she died.

Police said the Robinsons’ ‘abused children by inflicting a series of blunt injuries that resulted in the victim’s death.’

The coroner’s office confirmed that the cause of death was multiple blunt injuries, WHNS reported.

Each of the Robinsons faces a “child abuse homicide” charge and, if convicted, faces up to 20 years of life in prison, police said.

Ariel and Jerry Robinson are being held at Greenville County Detention Center without bail, prison records show.

The arrest proves a big drop for Ariel Robinson, who won a grand prize of $ 25,000 after competing at Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America in August, the WHNS revealed for the first time.

The mother of five told Greenville News last year that she had adopted three children, who moved into her family’s home in March.

It is not yet clear whether the victim was biologically his son and whether any of the other children in the household had been abused.

Robinson planned to use his earnings from the show to plan a fun trip with his big family, she told the outlet.

“I want to take you to an aquatic resort or the beach. Vacation so we can do something important as a family this year, ”she said.

Before his arrest, Ariel Robinson remained active with posting cooking videos to his YouTube channel – including a video just four days ago.
