South Carolina men arrested on various criminal charges for carrying weapons

CORNWALL – Two men from Hemingway, South Carolina, were arrested after a traffic stop on Thruway in the city of Cornwall.

During the interview with the driver after the 5:25 am stop on February 11, the probable cause for searching the vehicle and the occupants was established.

This led to the discovery of a 9 mm gun with a magazine loaded with seven cartridges.

The driver, Israel Davis, 25, and the passenger, Malick Davis, 22, were charged with criminal possession of a weapon as a misdemeanor. Malick Davis was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon due to a previous conviction.

Both men were also charged with criminal possession of a firearm.

Each was released with tickets returned to Cornwall Town Court.
