South Carolina leaders react to protests and violence in Washington DC

COLOMBIA, SC (WOLO) – On Wednesday, protesters gathered to oppose the Electoral College’s certification and some stormed the United States Capitol building. Several South Carolina leaders tweeted their reactions to the events.

Senator Lindsey Graham called the violence “a national constraint”.

Senator Tim Scott says his team is safe.

Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley called the events non-American.

Rep. Jeff Duncan urged protesters to follow police orders.

Deputy Nancy Mace said she had evacuated her office due to an upcoming threat.

Rep Joe Wilson said he and his team are doing well.
