South Carolina Gamecocks signer Raven Johnson wins Naismith High School trophy

South Carolina signatory Raven Johnson, 2nd in the 2021 class, won the 2021 Jersey Mike’s Naismith High School trophy.

Johnson, who was named a McDonald’s All American in February, averaged 15.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 3.8 steals for Westlake High School (Georgia).

“Raven is an absolute star and we are thrilled that Naismith voters see in her what we saw from the first day we recruited her,” South Carolina Chief Coach Dawn Staley said in a press release. “She is talented, driven and makes everyone around her better on and off the court. We can’t wait to get her on campus and introduce our FAMS to the next big thing in South Carolina.”

Johnson leads South Carolina’s top-ranked recruiting class, which also features the No. 3 Saniya Rivers perspective, the No. 4 Sania Feagin perspective, and the No. 14 Aubryanna Hall perspective.

The only other ex-Gamecock to win the Naismith High School Trophy was A’ja Wilson, who won the award in 2014.
