South Carolina Gamecocks football Pro Day results

The University of South Carolina football program held its annual Professional Day at the school’s football complex today. Fourteen ex-Gamecocks attended the event to showcase their skills and athletics to staff from 31 of the 32 National Football League franchises.

The 14 former players who participated in today’s training included Javon Charleston, Tavien Feaster, Daniel Fennell, Collin Hill, Jaycee Horn, Sadarius Hutcherson, JT Ibe, Ernest Jones, Caleb Kinlaw, Israel Mukuamu, Kiel Pollard, Adam Prentice, Shi Smith and Eldridge Thompson.

Six general managers of the NFL representing the Cardinals, Bills, Broncos, Packers, Dolphins and Titans, and two main coaches, Matt Rhule Panthers and Mike Vrabel from Titans, were among 61 NFL officials in Columbia on Wednesday to take a close look at Carolina’s NFL candidates.

The day started in the weight room when the players were measured for height, weight, wingspan, arm and hand, before participating in the vertical jump and bench press. The event then changed to Jerri and Steve Spurrier indoor training facility, where players competed in the wide jump, 40-yard dash, short shuttle, 3-cone drill and long shuttle before ending with individual position exercises.

Impressive performance was achieved by Jaycee Horn, which many draft experts have rated as a likely first round choice. The cornerback measured six feet and three quarters of an inch and weighed 205 pounds. He posted a 41 1/2 inch vertical jump, an 11-inch, one-inch wide jump and had 19 225 pound reps on the bench press before running a 4.37-yard run, doing nothing to diminish his fitness status. draft.

Other notable marks were placed by the offensive striker Sadarius Hutcherson, who pressed 225 pounds 36 times. Hutcherson also jumped vertically 31 1/2 inches and recorded a 40 yard run of 4.95 while weighing 321 pounds. Defender Ernest Jones showed his athleticism with a vertical jump of 38 1/2 inches and a 10-6 wide jump while weighing 230 pounds.
