A man wanted in connection with a shooting in South Carolina was arrested Tuesday in the San Antonio area, officials said.
Tyrese Deshawnd Lighty, 22, was arrested on Live Oak by members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on eight pending warrants involving first-degree murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault.
The warrants were issued after an October shootout at a Myrtle Beach restaurant that left two people dead and six others seriously injured. Lighty went into hiding and ran away until Tuesday.
US Marshals in South Carolina recently discovered that Lighty had ties in the San Antonio area, officials said.
Task Force Lone Star – which includes the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Security – found Lighty in an apartment on Block 13,000 on Oak Terrace Drive in Live Oak, northeast of San Antonio.
He was arrested without incident and is being held at Bexar County Jail pending extradition to Myrtle Beach.
Lighty is the fourth person arrested in the case. The others are Samuel Alexander Frye, Lonnell Damon Duckett Jr. and Mardave Dawoo Hunter.
The shooting occurred on October 12 inside Allen’s Food Basket. A card game was taking place at the restaurant when a group came in and lined up the eight people against a wall, according to The Sun News. Several people started shooting.
Darius Hemingway died at the scene and Antonio Woods died days after his injuries.
