South Carolina developer heads to Arlington with new industrial project

The South Carolina-based developer is building a new industrial project in Arlington.

Johnson Development Associates Inc. is building its Forum Commerce Center on Arkansas Lane in the Great Southwest Industrial District. The 129,450 square foot industrial building will be completed in mid-2021.

“Johnson Development Associates is very excited about our latest project in Dallas-Fort Worth,” Preston Harrell of Johnson Development Associates said in a statement. “The Forum Commerce Center is well positioned for potential tenants who want to serve the northern Texas metropolitan area from a city center location.

Founded in the 1980s, Johnson Development has offices in South Carolina, California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC and New York. The company develops industrial, multifamily and self-storage projects.

The Spartanburg-based developer has several industrial properties in Irving, Fort Worth and the Houston area.

Commercial property firm Cushman & Wakefield will market the new Arlington project. “We are excited to commercialize this new project located on the corner of Arkansas Lane and Forum Drive,” said David Eseke of Cushman & Wakefield in a statement.

Eseke and Clay Balch of Cushman & Wakefield were hired to oversee the rental of the property.

Dallas-Fort Worth is one of the country’s leading industrial construction markets, with nearly 30 million square feet of projects underway.
