COLUMBIA, SC – As first announced on November 21, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) will not report daily COVID-19 numbers on New Year’s Day. The data that would be reported on January 1 will be available online the next day.

In addition, although DHEC continues to provide daily updates of COVID-19 on the agency’s website, as of January 2, 2021, the same information provided at scdhec.gov/COVID19 will no longer be reported in a press release. double. DHEC will announce publicly on its social media platforms when the web page is updated with new COVID-19 data for the day. The same information presented in the daily press releases is available on the COVID-19 home page, which will continue to be updated each day.

  • Confirmed and probable deaths: 4,885 / 411
  • Tests performed for Southern Carolinians: 3,663,351

  • Test opportunities available across the state: 280

Positive percentage (scdhec.gov/COVID19dashboard)

  • 10,369 individual test results reported across the state yesterday (not including antibody tests)
  • 31.2% positive percent
