South Carolina coaches had a binge of offers late Monday afternoon.
Several potential customers in the 2022 class added an offer from Gamecocks, including the quarterback from Spring Valley High School (Columbia, SC) Dequandre Smith. Smith, however, told TheBigSpur that he was offered as a security guard, not as a defender.
At least three other defenders received an offer from South Carolina: four-star cornerback Jaeden Gould (Oradell, NJ), three star cornerback Jordan Allen (Lafayette, La.) And unclassified security Mumu Bin-Wahad (Loganville, Georgia).
Three unclassified candidates were offered and are classified by 247Sports as external linebackers: Micah Pollard (Jacksonville, Florida), Omar Graham Jr. (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) and Javae Gilmore (Amite, La.).
Two defensive ends got a Gamecocks offer: four star defensive end Wilfredo Aybar (Cheshire, Conn.) And Bryan Thomas Jr. (Winter garden, Florida).
A pair of offensive tackles were also offered: Ryan Brubaker (Suwanee, Ga.) And Grayson Mains (Denver, Pa.).
According to the 247Sports scholarship tracker, 195 applicants from the 2022 class have an offer from South Carolina. Most of those listed here were offered by the previous Gamecocks technical team.
Ten are from the state of South Carolina. The seven are on the offensive side of the ball. The other three, including Smith, could play defense at the next level.
