South Carolina adds four on Signature Day

With the start of the subscription period in December, February’s National Subscription Day has lost some of its luster. However, the South Carolina Gamecocks brought four more players into the group, probably ending new coach Shane Beamer’s attempt to rescue the program’s 2021 class.

Two signatories, TJ Sanders and Kolbe Fields, were the previous commitments that made it official. Sanders is a three-star player in the state on the defensive end, while Fields is a three-star linebacker from New Orleans.

Gamecocks won two Signature Day pickups at La’Dareyen Craig and Tavareon Martin-Scott. Craig is a three-star cornerback from Alabama, and three-star Martin-Scott is another Kansas linebacker.

South Carolina, technically, has room for another signatory, and Beamer has relied heavily on the transfer portal to this point, adding seven high SEC transfers. FCS St. Francis quarterback Jason Brown highlights the group, along with former Georgia Tech receiver Ahmarean Brown and Delaware linebacker Debo Williams.
