South Carolina 2021 US dollars of innovation is available

The latest in the American Innovation dollar coin series is now available when the U.S. Mint began taking orders for South Carolina coins in bags and rolls on January 19.

The coins are of Uncirculated quality from Philadelphia and Denver Mints, available in rolls of 25 coins or bags of 100 coins. The price is $ 34.50 per roll and $ 117.50 per bag.

The South Carolina coin pays homage to civil rights educator and activist Septima Poinsette Clark.

The reverse design of the coin shows Ms. Clark marching with three young African-American students carrying books and an American flag, representing the theme that education and literacy among the oppressed are necessary for the strengthening and enjoyment of civil rights. Registrations are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, SEPTIMA CLARK and SOUTH CAROLINA.

The obverse of all US innovation dollars features a dramatic depiction of the Statue of Liberty in profile with the inscriptions IN GOD WE TRUST and $ 1. The private label on the common obverse of a stylized gear represents the theme of the industry and innovation series.

The multi-year American Innovation dollar series offers distinctive reverse designs that pay homage to America’s ingenuity and celebrate the pioneering efforts of individuals or groups from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories. The South Carolina dollar is the eighth in the series, which is being issued in the order of states entering the Union.

Orders can be placed on the US Mint website.
