Sophie Wessex News: Queen said to replace Meghan and Harry with the ‘loyal’ Sophie Wessex | Royal | News

Sophie Wessex ‘very sensitive’ to real charity work, says expert

The Queen has formed a “company of eight” senior royalty members who will make public appearances together this year, which may include Sophie, the wife of the monarch’s youngest son, Prince Edward. This happened after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior member of the royal family last March to seek financial independence. The couple are due to have a real overhaul with His Majesty in March, a year after moving to Los Angeles with son Archie. But they may not be returning to the royal family anytime soon, as other royals will soon be taking their places.

Express.co.uk readers were asked whether Sophie should take on a bigger role after Meghan and Harry left.

Of the 2,551 people who voted, an impressive 2,331 voters (91 percent) said yes.

Only 202 people (nine percent) think not.

And 18 voters (zero percent) said they did not know.

Readers were quick to share their views on whether the Queen should give Sophie more responsibility.

One person was quick to praise royalty, as they said, “Sophie is dignified, graceful and performs her public acts with genuine compassion.”

Another reader added, “Sophie is a thousand times better than Harry and his wife as a real worker because she is loyal and sincere in serving the queen and the country.”

A third person called Sophie “a pair of safe hands”.

And someone else simply said, “Get rid of them!”

The Queen has not officially confirmed this new “firm”.

But it could be composed of Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, as well as Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.

The queen’s daughter, Princess Anne, is also included.

A real source told Mirror that “The family is united to explore the possibilities of working together to highlight the causes that are dear to them, helping each other and at the same time the country”.

The source added that royalty is “working on opportunities for the coming year and beyond”.

They said: “The Queen has always said that they ‘need to be seen to be believed’ – this is coming from above.”

Sophie and Edward were also among eight members of the Royal Family who gathered outside Windsor Castle last month when Kate and William returned from their royal train journey after personally thanking greedy heroes across the UK .

Royal author Angela Levin added Sophie and Prince Edward “feel they have been left out a bit” in the past as royalty.

She told Express.co.uk: “I am sure the Count and Countess of Wessex will introduce themselves.

“They did this recently, since Harry and Meghan left. They are very anxious to get things done, I think they feel they have been left out a little and now is a chance.

“The countess, of course, is an incredible worker, very good with people and the queen adores her.

“They live very close to the Queen in Windsor and used to go to church on the Sunday before the blockade. And she learned to ride so she could ride with Her Majesty.”

Meanwhile, Meghan and Harry have already organized a series of projects this year, after closing multimillion-dollar deals with Spotify and Netflix.

The duke’s friend and ITV News anchorman Tom Bradby said the pair were “happy” with their new lives.

But he added that Harry is “heartbroken by the situation with his family” after moving to the United States.

He said in Sunday’s episode of Love Your Weekend With Alan Titchmarsh: “So are they unhappy? No, I think they are satisfied, the things they are doing are very excited.

“I think he is heartbroken by the situation with his family, you don’t necessarily need to have knowledge to know this, but I think it is true.”
