Sony’s PlayStation Network down on Saturday

A drop in Sony’s PlayStation Network that started on Friday afternoon seemed to persist on Saturday morning. According to an update on the 6:33 pm timestamp status page (it is not clear what the time zone is) on February 26, the affected platforms are PS Vita, PS3, PS4 and PS5.

“You may have difficulty launching games, applications or network resources. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience, ”says the update.

Engadget reported that the disruption may be affecting some games, but not others; Fifteen days seemed to be accessible, but Minecraft and Call of Duty: Warzone were not.

The PlayStation Network outage began a day after Microsoft’s Xbox Live service experienced a global outage for five hours. On February 10, PlayStation Network was inactive around the world for about an hour.

We contacted Sony for details on what is causing the outage, how widespread it is and when it can be resolved, and we will update when we know more.
