Roger Craig Smith, the voice actor behind Sonic the Hedgehog for most of the past decade, announced more than a week ago that he would move on from the role. Not long after, Sonic fans started to worry that Mike Pollock, Dr. Eggman’s voice, would end up being overhauled as well. Fortunately, this has now been confirmed to not be happening.
Pollock recently accessed Twitter to inform fans that he will not be leaving Dr. Eggman’s role in the Sonic the Hedgehog series in the future. “You haven’t heard of me as Dr. Eggman in Sonic the Hedgehog video games yet! Please prepare your ears properly, ”said Pollock in his tweet. “If you guessed the opposite, surprise!”
You know what they say: the more the better!
You haven’t heard of me as Dr. Eggman in Sonic the Hedgehog video games! Please prepare your ears properly.
If you guessed otherwise, SURPRISE !!!!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to stock up on pills.

Pollock’s information was widely received with relief from fans who feared losing him and Smith in a little over a week. In addition to Roger Craig Smith, Cindy Robinson, who voices Amy in the world of Sonic, revealed in recent days that she would not star in the next film Sonic Prime animated series on Netflix. Pollock in a follow-up tweet told fans that they shouldn’t take sides and pleaded that the situation with the castings was a little more complicated than was publicly realized.
While a lot has happened in the past few days with regard to the voice actors behind the Sonic the Hedgehog series, at least Pollock will remain around for the foreseeable future. And even if there are some new voices behind these iconic characters, they will surely end up getting along quickly.
