Who: Elon Musk
Location: West Hollywood.
What is he wearing: A black T-shirt celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo XI, black jeans, a leather jacket and a black and white bandana.
Editor’s Notes: Do not be stupid. Just a few weeks ago, we saw a unmasked Musk approaching Joe Rogan and Dave Chappelle (just before the comedian signed Covid). However, even with all the money and scientific knowledge at his disposal, Musk did not learn to properly mask himself.
Last year, the bandana emerged as the preferred facial cover for celebrities who still don’t understand the memo (Johnny Depp, Bruce Willis et al). Of course, the authorities’ guidance on masks has been confusing and sometimes contradictory, with health officials previously advising the public not to buy masks, due to the great shortage of essential protective equipment. But certainly, if you can colonize Mars, you can put on an N95 respirator – especially if you’re going to eat out in a pandemic.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, a bandana is useful, but only if you used the material as a base to make your own tight mask. Tying one around your face won’t do much to protect you or others, and it conveys a boomer attitude, “IDGF” to those around you.
Fortunately, the mask game has come a long way in the last year, which means you can protect yourself and others while looking good. PPE equipment is now firmly woven into the fabric of everyday life and is being produced by companies such as Marine Serre and Off-White ™.
