Hitman 3 just came out this week, and we’re already seeing players totally breaking the time to complete their first level.
If you’ve looked at the leaderboards since the game’s official release, you know that some enterprising players are already breaking through the game’s six levels, but Dubai in particular seems to be attracting some particularly quick attempts.
Currently, the completion of the world record for the level is nine seconds quite confusing. Nine! Checked by speedrun.com (via PCGamesN), two speedrunners completed the% Any category for Top of the World in less than 10 seconds.
Wreak and Der_Lauch_Linus manage to achieve the remarkable feat by shooting at the two targets needed to complete the level as soon as they appear at the beginning of the mission.
With a steady, premeditated hand, you can enter the level, climb the lobby steps in the Scepter (where the level is defined) and shoot the two targets as they blend in with their contemporaries and business partners.
Perhaps the interesting part of the feat is how the any% category is still not absolutely perfect: watching the videos embedded on this page, you will see the two runners trying to shorten their running time making sure that their initial lame is perfectly aligned.
If you’re thinking ‘well, they’re not doing it right because they don’t have the position of Silent Killer’, then we have some distressing news for you. According to Speedrun.com, the Silent Assassin category at the same level was defeated in 17 downright ridiculous seconds.
Hitman 3 received great reviews, with Alex Donaldson, from VG247, calling it “a suitable ending for one of the best trilogies in the game”.
