White House social secretary Anna Cristina “Rickie” Niceta resigned, with immediate effect, a White House official told CNN.
Niceta was the sole social secretary of the Trump administration, taking office in February 2017.
Niceta becomes the second senior employee in the east wing to resign from her job following today’s violent Capitol protests.
Stephanie Grisham, former White House communications director and press secretary and current chief of staff to First Lady Melania Trump, presented her resignation on Wednesday afternoon.
Some information about Niceta’s role: The social secretary conducts and supervises all events in the White House, from small meetings in the West Wing, to the Easter Egg Roll, Halloween, state visits and picnics and congressional galas.
Before becoming a social secretary, Niceta was an executive at Design Cuisine, a catering company in Washington, DC. Melania Trump hired Niceta after being impressed with the food at the inaugural lunch in the United States Capitol building.
