Some Alabama NFL draft decision notes

Now that the Alabama season is over, players eligible for the Crimson Tide draft will soon announce whether they are turning pro or – in some situations – returning to Tide for another season.

Here are the notes on some of the guys eligible for the draft based on the information the sources shared with AL.com:

– The expectation is that four underclassmen will finally choose to leave for the NFL: cornerback Patrick Surtain, quarterback Mac Jones, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and striker Christian Barmore. It is possible that all four will end up being chosen in the first round.

– Redshirt junior external linebacker Christopher Allen, a second selected All-SEC team who led the conference with 13 tackles for a loss, is expected to return to school instead of turning professional. NFL scouts had seen it as a potential choice for the NFL’s Day 2 draft.

– The belief is that junior cornerback Josh Jobe, another possible choice for Day 2, will likely stay in Alabama instead of leaving for the NFL.

– Brian Robinson, who ran 483 yards as a reserve for Najee Harris on the running back this season, should be among Crimson Tide veterans who will return to school for another season, instead of going to the NFL.
