Soldiers: 1 passenger killed after a fatal collision of two vehicles in Lancaster, South Carolina

LANCASTER, SC – South Carolina soldiers say a passenger died on Saturday night after two cars crashed into Lancaster.

Police say they responded to the fatal accident around 7 pm on March 20, and all occupants of both vehicles were taken to MUSC Lancaster Medical Center for treatment, except for a passenger who died.

Police say the driver of a Volkswagen 2021 sedan, Shanequin Moore, 25, was heading south on US Highway 521 when the driver of a 2009 Honda sedan, Jykeona Kirkland, 32, headed north in the same direction. highway tried to turn left on Shiloh Unity Road without giving way on the right in passing.

Moore collided with Kirkland when turning left, and the two vehicles suffered damage in the accident, according to a press release.

Police say a passenger inside the Volkswagen was also injured in the accident, and one of the four passengers inside the Honda, who was sitting in the middle of the rear, died in the collision.

Police said all occupants are being treated at a local hospital and detectives are investigating the accident.
