Albemarle coach Richard Davis said “it was the right decision for our governor and, for me, it was an easy decision to make. Parents want to see their children playing and this prevents families from making difficult decisions about who is going to watch each game ”.

Davis also said, “it goes without saying that more people in the stands will generate more revenue for schools to make up for some of the losses we have suffered. Now we just need everyone to follow the guidelines and enjoy the games ”.

Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, who were scheduled to play at Chatham Central on Friday, the game was postponed because the Bears are still in the state basketball playoffs and would not have enough players.

Speaking about the far north of Stanly and the increase in capacity, North Stanly head coach Scott Crisco said: “I am totally in favor. At least now our parents and families can watch their son’s game. This community needs high school football, and high school football needs our community at games. It is a step in the right direction. “

North was scheduled to play on Friday at West Stanly, but the game was postponed due to the COVID-19 protocols.

The only team to play this week is South Stanly, which hosts South Davidson at 6:30 pm on Thursday.
