Snyder explains the use of the black Superman suit

Director Zack Snyder revealed why he chose Henry Cavill to wear the black Superman suit in his Justice League miniseries for HBO Max.

Director Zack Snyder recently revealed why he chose to incorporate the black Superman suit into his Justice League, debuting on HBO Max in March 2021.

“I really have always been a very strong supporter of the black suit,” Snyder told the ComicBook Debate. “I really wanted the black suit; it made sense to me because … Superman is a notoriously non-growing character. He’s like a rock and everything breaks against him.”

He added: “And we learn about ourselves by trying to change something that is immutable.”

“We don’t really understand that in this film, the classic Superman. I also think that the black suit is a great time liner, ”continued Snyder. “If you see a flashback or a flash-forward, it in a black suit lets you know where you are in time because it is very particular for this specific arc.”
