
NWS Boston projects up to 20 inches of snow in various areas of the state on Sunday.
The National Weather Service on Sunday extended a winter storm alert to include parts of the south coast of Massachusetts to Boston by 1 am Monday.
The previous Sunday, NWS Boston officials expected snow to fall across the state on Sunday, with some areas possibly seeing up to 20 inches of snow falling at night.
With projections updated around 1 pm on Sunday, the hardest hit areas appear to be around Boston, Taunton, New Bedford and parts of Cape Cod.
The notice is in effect in Suffolk, Norfolk and Dukes counties starting Sunday at 2:30 pm
NWS Boston says it has received reports of over 7 inches of snow an hour in Norfolk County.
