‘Snowpiercer’ renewed for season 3 on TNT – season 2 starts on January 25

Snowpiercer it won’t be out of control anytime soon, now that TNT has renewed the dystopian drama for a third season – before the second season’s premiere on Monday, January 25.

Starring Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly, Snowpiercer debuted as the most watched new cable entertainment program in May 2020 and marked TNT’s biggest debut since The alienist in 2018. The first season is now available for broadcast on HBO Max.

At the end of season 1, the survivors of the revolution found themselves trying to maintain a fragile peace between the newly merged classes, with Layton (played by Diggs) emerging as the leader of the train. But on discovering that Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) is indeed alive and drove his way on a rival train, Melanie (Connelly) risked venturing out to prevent his boss from invading Snowpiercer. While Melanie was outside, it was revealed that Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard) – the daughter she thought died – is alive and has become Wilford’s protégé.

“It doesn’t look like it’s going to be an easy ride for Melanie with her daughter, where she ‘takes a step for a hug’,” showrunner Graeme Manson told TVLine. “On the one hand, we’re still not sure about Wilford’s charisma and ability. We have our ideas about him through Melanie and her myth, but what kind of life is Alexandra leading [on Big Alice]? What she believes about her mother, I think, is one of the biggest questions to start the top of the season. “

In season 2, a new power struggle arises, causing a dangerous divide while people are torn between their loyalty to Layton and Mr. Wilford, who has a new train, new technology and a game plan that keeps everyone in doubt. While Layton fights Wilford for Snowpiercer’s soul, Melanie leads the charge in a shocking new discovery that could change the fate of humanity.
