NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) – Snow, sleet and freezing rain have left Middle Tennessee and Kentucky, but icy road conditions remain. The authorities are again asking people to stay at home.
Numerous accidents were reported on Monday, due to deteriorating travel conditions throughout the day. During the night, the snow stopped, but temperatures will only reach 20 degrees on Tuesday, so the roads will not have a chance to thaw.
Nashville’s neighborhood streets remain covered in snow and ice and pose a real risk to travel. The main and interstate roads are passable, but still have snow and ice. If travel is absolutely essential, drive slowly and very carefully. Stay home if possible. pic.twitter.com/joMhr4kT6H

Every county in Middle Tennessee is reporting icy road conditions.
Reporter Aaron Cantrell and photojournalist Quan McWil helped a Nashville driver who was arrested Tuesday morning.
Eric Goodman, a Nashville resident, was driving to the store when he was arrested near Donelson Pike. Fortunately me and photojournalist @QuanMcwil_TV was there to help get your car out of the snow. Listen to Eric and stay home! @ NC5 pic.twitter.com/IVK83nXKc3

To make matters worse, temperatures are not expected to stay above zero by the end of this week. Another winter storm seems to pass from late Wednesday to Thursday, bringing more ice and snow.
Here’s a look at road conditions throughout the area on Tuesday morning:
Road conditions have not improved, they are still covered with ice. The city’s streets are working 12-hour shifts, plowing and salting the main roads. No accidents reported so far from midnight to 6:30 am. Twelve accidents were reported on Monday. Unless it is an emergency, please stay off the roads. pic.twitter.com/g1lm0bw1fc

Icy roads or patches of ice / snow still present. Travel hazards in the area continue.
The crews have been plowing and salting, but extreme temperatures have kept conditions slippery in many places. Stay at home, if possible, be extremely careful if you need to leave.
Go slow, don’t leave the back.
