‘SNL’ Zillow skits a little too real for Twitter

Is a buyer’s market better than a cashout call?

A new Saturday Night Live Esket satirizing young people in their 30s looking for pleasure by browsing Zillow’s property listings has hit a nerve on social media.

The pre-produced sketch of Saturday’s episode of the show begins with a parody of a suggestive infomercial, while cast members wriggle on beds and sofas in subdued lighting.

Sensual voices are heard asking, “Are you bored?” “Looking for something to spice up your life?” “You used to want sex, but now you’re almost 30”, “and sex is no longer doing this for me”.

“You need something new”, “So you need Zillow.com”

The sketch then reveals that tortured actors are coveting lewd real estate ads, not pornography.

“An updated colonial, with mature landscaping,” grumbles cast member Alex Moffat.

“I want to turn it around,” says cast member Mikey Day.

“I would never like to live in North Carolina, but if I wanted to, I could buy a big, disgusting mansion,” laments host Dan Levy as he looks at the list of a $ 427,000 McMansion with seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

“The pleasure you once had with sex now comes from looking at other people’s homes,” a narration continues.

The suggestive satire changes abruptly when Day calls a realtor and the broker’s realistic sales pitch quickly gets in the way.

The fake commercial was a huge hit on Twitter, where it received almost 50,000 likes and hundreds of comments.

“Bahhahahah, I’m in my 30s and I woke up late at Zillow last night !!!! This is necessary ”, tweeted a user.

“How dare SNL attack us with that Zillow ad!” played another popular answer.

“So, what if I told you what I’ve kind of seen … oh, idk, someone else? Their name is @realtordotcom ”, posted another.

Comedian Ted Alexandro accused SNL of stealing his joke, posting a little he performed at Comedy Cellar on real estate fantasies.

But Zillow was happy to absorb the loving attention, tweeting: “Yes, football is great, but have you played Zillow?”
